Pick As Follows

HOLLYWOOD PARK Sunday, May 16, 2010 ------------------------------------------ FIRST RACE Probable Post 1:00 PDT 1 1/16 Miles. All Weather. 3-Year-Olds and Up. Fillies and Mares. Claiming ($12,500 to $10,500). Purse: $20,000 5 Malusita (3-1) 6 Look to the Sky (9-5) 1 Lucy Got Lucky (5-2) 4 Twodollarstowin (4-1) 5 Malusita prepped on the grass for this; gets back to her best, routing on the main track leaving the question, what took so long? 6 Look to the Sky has thrived since hitting the Morey barn; why not three in a row? 1 Lucy Got Lucky has not run a bad one since entering the Canani barn; can handle the non-conditional class hike. 4 Twodollarstowin finished well in local try to snag the runner-up spot; chance to land a share. ------------------------------------------ SECOND RACE Probable Post 1:30 PDT 4 1/2 Furlongs. All Weather. 2-Year-Olds. Fillies. Maiden Special Weight. Purse: $41,000 2 Stealthy (7-2) 4 Shoo Gee (7-2) 7 Queen of Tahoe (5-2) 6 Swiss Wild Cat (3-1) 5 Twisp (10-1) 2 Stealthy debuts for Miller-Baze; will be out flying off that work tab. 4 Shoo Gee debuts for the red hot Solis connections; pulled it off on Thursday, only the latest. 7 Queen of Tahoe is working well for the hot trainer; looks like a newcomer race. 6 Swiss Wild Cat closed well in debut; may have to pick it up to catch these up front. 5 Twisp tired, when bet in debut; Harrington preps them well for the return. ------------------------------------------ THIRD RACE Probable Post 2:01 PDT 6 1/2 Furlongs. All Weather. 3-Year-Olds and Up. Starter Allowance (N2L). Purse: $25,000 4 Gray Zulu (7-5) 5 Muqtabe (7-2) 6 Detroit Donnie (4-1) 1 Eze Does It (3-1) 4 Gray Zulu and 5 Muqtabe figure to duke it out from the start; with nothing with the ability to go by, the one to the top will probably win. 1 Eze Does It ran well with better, then broke through on the drop; figures to be involved to the wire and pick up the pieces if it falls apart. 6 Detroit Donnie has speed but is light on the Beyer’s, battles with the rest for a minor award. ------------------------------------------ FOURTH RACE Probable Post 2:32 PDT 6 Furlongs. Turf. 3- Year-Olds and Up. Claiming ($40,000 to $35,000). Purse: $34,000 1 Banner Lodge (2-1) (*BEST BET*) 3 Winsome Charm (6-1) 6 Leandros (7-2) 2 Noblety (5-2) 1 Banner Lodge looks to be the absolute lone speed; has a chance to lead all the way. 3 Winsome Charm closed well when got loose from the rail; could use a more favorable pace scenario. 6 Leandros looks to be in the stalking spot and gets first run on the leader; may need one off the layoff. 2 Noblety usually finishes well; class hike the cause for concern off past tries. ------------------------------------------ FIFTH RACE Probable Post 3:04 PDT 6 Furlongs. All Weather. 3-Year-Olds and Up. Fillies and Mares. California-bred. Allowance. Purse: $43,000 1 Our Road Scholar (2-1) 7 Blame the Wine (5-2) 4 Be Driven (4-1) 5 Space Age Lovesong (6-1) 1 Our Road Scholar ran a huge one, locally, with better; has to overcome the tough post draw. 7 Blame the Wine tossed in an inexplicably bad one in the stake; Hollendorfer will figure her out, soon. 4 Be Driven has been chasing the top ones around; does not figure to threaten the top spot. 5 Space Age Lovesong may find the way to the exotics window; not much else to recommend. ------------------------------------------ SIXTH RACE Probable Post 3:35 PDT 1 Mile. Turf. 3-Year- Olds and Up. Fillies and Mares. Maiden Special Weight. Purse: $42,000 8 Tiz Misty (8-1) (*LONGSHOT SPECIAL*) 10 Go Forth North (3-1) 4 First Settler (9-2) 9 Magic Lantern (6-1) 6 Blue Tambourine (20-1) 8 Tiz Misty was in contention until the unfortunate mishap; figures to improve. 10 Go Forth North 4 First Settler ran evenly in first two for Drysdale; time to get serious. 9 Magic Lantern finished well, down the hill; may better the rating on the stretch out. 6 Blue Tambourine blew up the Beyer meter on the main; working smartly and should handle the grass. ------------------------------------------ SEVENTH RACE Probable Post 4:05 PDT 1 1/16 Miles. All Weather. 3-Year-Olds and Up. Fillies and Mares. MiladyH (Grade 2). Purse: $150,000 3 Dance to My Tune (5-2) 2 Made for Magic (5-1) 1 Third Dawn (2-1) 4 Wynning Ride (3-1) 3 Dance to My Tune figures loose with Bejarano; tough to catch. 2 Made for Magic caught trouble at a crucial moment; betters the rating. 1 Third Dawn needed the last; will get best effort. 4 Wynning Ride returned with a solid Beyer; tries to hold on longer. ------------------------------------------ EIGHTH RACE Probable Post 4:35 PDT 1 Mile. Turf. 3-Year- Olds and Up. Fillies and Mares. California-bred. Optional Claiming ($25,000). Purse: $44,000 2 Magic Launch (5-2) 3 Salty Sarah (5-1) 1 My Maloof Rocker (3-1) 6 Bran Jammas (7-2) 2 Magic Launch has returned with a vengeance; back with state breds in here. 3 Salty Sarah battled the pick to the wire; have to give another shot. 1 My Maloof Rocker returns with a solid work tab; may be up to her old tricks. 6 Bran Jammas finished well in local try; chance to snag a share. ------------------------------------------ NINTH RACE Probable Post 5:05 PDT 6 Furlongs. All Weather. 3-Year-Olds and Up. Maiden Claiming ($32,000 to $28,000). Purse: $17,600 11 Big Wags (5-2) 10 Sonofablur (4-1) 3 Fleeting Summer (7-2) 4 The Robster (8-1) 11 Big Wags gets the favorable draw and rider switch; figures in a wide open event. 10 Sonofablur fits well in here; may be able to handle the distance with a fitness edge. 3 Fleeting Summer debuts for Hendicks at the tough distance; scores at 16% of these. 4 The Robster goes for the 18% trainer and the questionable jockey selection; not a complete throw out. ------------------------------------------
